Acne Blemish Treatments Can Be A Serious Investment

Acne blemish treatments are a dime a dozen.  Of course I mean figuratively because you will actually pay more than $150 a dozen or more for most acne blemish treatments.  These treatments come in many forms from a quick acting spot gel to an overnight facial peel for more serious acne problems.  Almost all can be purchased from your local drug store or grocery store near the cosmetic counter or next to the soaps and shampoos.

There are also the acne blemish treatments that you can order by telephone after watching an infomercial on television, or from home party or direct home sales agents.  You may have even received advertisements in the mail for acne treatments that look enticing.  These ads are great because they allow you to study the before and after photos, but how can you really know if these photos are enhanced or taken several months apart?

The treatments that you have to order are typically a line of products that are designed to work together.  These typically work very well, if you have the dedication to spend a half hour two times a day washing your face.  Most of us don’t have that kind of time, or we start out doing great but then one day we skip a step.  Then the next day we skip one of the two regimens.  Before we know it, we’re using the $300 worth of products when we notice them getting dusty.  If you cannot commit to regular use of these products, don’t waste your money.

Some over the counter products also seem to have a whole line of acne blemish treatments.  How do you know if you have to buy the entire line or if you can just pick and choose between the products?  Start with reading the labels.  It will tell you something like “best used with…” or “to be used after…”  For the most part, though, over the counter acne treatments can be used individually, and are pretty light on the wallet compared to the alternatives.

You will find acne blemish treatments that contain vitamin additives.  Actually, though, eating a healthy diet should give you all of the vitamins your skin needs.  Not all of us eat healthy every day and for us, vitamin additives can never hurt, especially when they are not taken internally.  Yes, it is possible to overdose on vitamins when taken internally.

Some of the more popular products are Derma e and Eucerin brands.  These have different ingredients and will work differently for you.  But there are so many brands to choose from with many different ingredients.  For more severe cases of acne, look for products that contain glycolic acid.  These are usually in the forms of peels and gels, and will be stronger than treatments with benzoyl peroxide, for example.

Finding the right acne treatment product and ingredients that work best for you can be tough.  You may have to try many before you find your perfect match.  I would suggest starting with the lower cost acne blemish treatments and work your way up, this might save you a lot of dimes if you find one quickly.
